This rare cap is of the 1964 to the 1979 period. It is a Socialistic Republic Of Vietnam, or North Vietnamese, Army, "Cong An", or Security and Border Guard Forces, Officer's, peaked service cap. This cap pre-dates 1979 as the cap badge changed is design after that. All North Vietnamese Army items are hard to find, these days, but any Officer's items are even harder to locate. This cap is in Good overall condition, as it does show some use from wearing. This cap is nicely aged, and even a collector novice can tell that this cap 100% all original . As an added bonus, there is much handwriting found inked inside. This writing is only partially readable, but enough remains that can be translated. We have not had any of this translated yet, to acquire a rarely found N.V.A. Officer's dress cap that is missing in most collections.
