Description

These woman's high heeled shoes probably date in the 1960's or so period.  They have 4 inch stacked wood clunky heels.  These medium brown color high heeled shoes appear to be of all leather construction, however they do have a rubber material wear pad outer sole.  They were sold by "Thom McAn" and are called "Woodworks".  We conservatively condition rate them as in a LOW EXCELLENT CONDITION, as they show little wear and tear and have no major defects.  The heel tips are also in EXCELLENT CONDITION, showing little wear.  We feel that these shoes would be more appropriate to be used on a female exhibit that has the woman dressed in civilian clothes as opposed to her being dressed in some paramilitary style uniform.  However, in contravance we know there is a photo of a young woman working for a American Red Cross type paramilitary organization in Vietnam, where such a woman was wearing almost an exact duplicate pair to these shoes while she was in a PX/Canteen environment.  So, we guess they can have more than 1 application for exhibit use.
